Domestic knick-knacks and materials from endangered and transitional sites inspired The Urban Fetishes. A fetish object is “the embodiment or habitation of a potent spirit or as having magical potency.” Each assemblage was ritually constructed to invoke the Genius Loci – The Spirit of Place, and with titles like “Avatar of the Dwindling Western Project” and “The Inverted God of Suburban Dinner Parties”, they asked what is of value and what is at stake in a time of diminishing individual power. They were exhibited at Mothership Studios in 2018 and The North Sydney Art Prize in 2019.
